 The Owen Smith Shuman Art Gallery opened on March 15, 1999. Located in Sibley Hall,
the Gallery was named in honor of the Library Director in appreciation for her dedication to the Town of Groton. The Gallery is supported by the GPL Endowment, and is open
to the public during regular library hours. The Gallery Curator is Martha Oldham.

 Previous exhibits:

The first exhibit in the Gallery was Landscapes: Near and Far, featuring works by 5 local artists. The exhibit ran from October 15 to November 18, 1999 .

Drawn From New England, a juried show of local artists, ran from November 23, 1999 to January 4, 2000.

Artists' Valentine, studio works, ran from January 11 to February 15, 2000.
